Westfield FIRST! Campaign
“Giving FIRST! to The Westfield Schools.”
Westfield FIRST! Campaign is Westfield Schools’ (Westfield) FIRST! fundraising priority. Faith, trust, and concern serve to motivate our supporters to give to the Westfield FIRST! Campaign. Every fall, Westfield FIRST! kicks off its campaign to raise money through the generosity and philanthropy of others. Westfield FIRST! Campaign provides Westfield a renewable source of revenue to be spent on expenditures that support Westfield’s Mission. As an independent school, Westfield receives no federal, state, or local monies; thus, Westfield depends on the generosity of parents, alumni, grandparents, faculty, staff, Board of Trustees, Corporate Partners and friends who champion Westfield’s Mission to donate to Westfield FIRST! Campaign.

Capital Campaigns
Projects funded under the Capital Campaign are often referred to as “bricks & mortar” projects. They are redevelopment of existing buildings or the construction of new ones such as the new Arts & Sciences building which opened for classes for the 2006-2007 school year. The purpose of Capital Campaigns is to provide gift support toward the capital needs agenda as related to the long-range plans of Westfield. To that end, the Westfield family should expect Capital Campaign projects every three to five years. Gifts to a Capital Campaign are above and beyond regular giving. The pledge period for Capital Campaign gifts is typically five years.
Planned Giving
As critical as the Westfield FIRST! Campaign is to the financial stability of Westfield for ‘today,’ Planned Giving is equally critical to the financial stability of Westfield for ‘tomorrow.’
Planned Giving allows you to leave a legacy to Westfield, which benefits you as the donor with significant tax benefits. Planned Giving vehicles include:
- Cash Gifts (cash, securities, property)
- Planned Gifts (wills, charitable trusts, life insurance)
If you would like to include Westfield in your estate planning, please contact the Director of Development at (478) 987-0547 ext. 222.
Other Ways to Support Westfield
Here are several additional ways you can support Westfield Schools. For more information, please call the Development Office at (478) 987-0547.
Kroger Earning Plus Learning Program
The Kroger Earning Plus Learning program begins anew each school year. The new program for the 2006-2007 school year is effective 8/1/2006.
Effective 8/1/2006, you must re-link your KrogerPlus Card to Westfield by following these steps:
Step 1 – Print the new Kroger Parent Letter is available at www.krogerearningpluslearning.com or use the attached parent letter. (The Development Office also has extra copies of this letter. The UPC barcode is the same each year and links your Kroger Plus card to Westfield.)
Step 2 - Take the Westfield School “parent letter” with you to Kroger the next time you go shopping. The cashier will scan the UPC barcode on the parent letter upon checkout after they have scanned your KrogerPlus Card. This will enroll your KrogerPlus Card in the 2006-2007 Earning Plus Learning Educational Incentive Program.
Step 3 - Use your enrolled KrogerPlus Card every time you shop at Kroger. Kroger will contribute four percent of your eligible purchases to the Kroger Earning Plus Learning fund. There is no cost to participate in this program. Funds received from the Kroger program are designated by the WPTA for Westfield’s Fine Arts Scholarship Program.
Publix Partners Program
Publix grocery stores have a “dollars for schools” program that donates a percentage based on the amount of sales made to those who use the Westfield Publix card. Simply present your Westfield Publix card at checkout to designate your purchases for Westfield. The money raised through Publix becomes a part of Westfield’s Annual Giving Program. Cards can be used at any Publix in Georgia, South Carolina, and Alabama and there is no cost to participate. Cards are available in the Development Office. Pick up extra cards for friends and family to use!
SchoolPop.com
SchoolPop is an on-line giving program. Anytime you shop on-line, simply log on to www.schoolpop.com, select Westfield, then click on your favorite name-brand merchant. Westfield automatically receives a donation based on your total purchase. More than 300 store, catalog and online merchants participate such as Lands’ End, Dell, J. C. Penney, GAP, Eddie Bauer, Office Depot, L. L. Bean, Talbots, Office Depot, and many more! Also, you can apply for the new Schoolpop Visa Credit Card. Westfield earns 1% on every purchase made anywhere when you use the Schoolpop Visa Card. Applications are available in the Development Office.
Target
Target will donate 1% of your qualifying Target Charge Card purchases to Westfield. If you already have a Target Charge Card, call 1-800-316-6142 to designate our school for your Target charge card purchases. If shopping at Target on-line, click the “designate a school” link so that Westfield will receive 1%.
Office Depot
Office Depot has a Back to Schools Program that gives 5% in Office Depot credit to schools to spend on supplies. Non-qualifying purchases include computers, technology, furniture, toner, ink cartridges, and bulk paper. Just mention Westfield Schools at the time of purchasing in store or ordering on the internet and the school will be credited. Westfield’s Office Depot ID# is: 70026422. Office Depot can also look up our code using the school’s name, city, and state in order to give Westfield the purchase credit. Individual and businesses can participate. Excluded from the program are contract businesses who receive discounted prices.
Magazine Sales
Purchase or renew your subscriptions to your favorite magazines every August through Westfield’s annual Magazine Sales fundraiser. Westfield receives 40% of the sales.
Wrapping Paper
The Westfield Parent-Teacher Association (WPTA) sponsors every fall a Wrapping Paper fundraising. Monies raised through Wrapping Paper support school projects.
